Master’s of Counseling
Introduction:
I received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2004 and also, a master’s degree in Counseling in 2007 both from Oakland University. I was a volunteer crisis intervention counselor for Macomb County from 2001 – 2003 and I have completed an internship in Career Services and my practicum in Academic Advising while at Oakland University. I have worked in the staffing industry for over 5 years. I have 8 months of individual and couples counseling experience with ages 15+ at Triad Counseling Centers.
Approach:
I will strive to help you reach your mental health goals, while using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques integrating other approaches such as, Motivational Interviewing or humanistic therapy. The counseling relationship is a working relationship and treatment can be tailored to meet your specific needs and goals. Your mental health journey will include discovering new ways to cope, setting and working to obtain your life goals, learning to achieve balance and becoming able to better connect with others on the road to your overall mental wellness.
