Introduction:

I have earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling from Thomas University. I currently hold the National Counselor Certification in the state of Michigan in pursuit of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been trained to work with children, adults, individuals, couples, and groups. I have extensive training with disabilities, vocational, co-occurring/substance use disorders, mental illnesses, and marriage and family. I have over 1,000 hours of counseling experience. My past experience included working with children who have a wide range of disabilities including: spinal cord injury, brain injury, cerebral palsy, fetal alcohol syndrome, and autism. I have also worked with children and adults who have anxiety, depression, and other mental illnesses. I have had experience working at a medication assisted treatment (MAT) center, working with those who have substance use disorders/co-occurring disorders.

Approach:

I use multiple counseling techniques in my individual counseling sessions. I focus on a person-centered approach from a holistic standpoint. And then use active listening, change talk, and cognitive behavioral thinking to change the thought process into a more positive and beneficial one in order to see positive lasting results.
